Senior Data Scientist – AI Core
**Role Summary**
Architect and deliver AI‑powered solutions that scale marketplace operations, from generative‑AI tools for customer care to advanced catalog management. Own end‑to‑end projects, prototype concepts, and productionize models, while mentoring teammates and fostering an AI‑centric culture.
**Expectations**

- Demonstrate clear business value via prototypes, MVPs, and data‑driven decision frameworks.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to embed AI solutions into product pipelines.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Define problem scope, metrics, and success criteria for AI projects.
- Extract, clean, and engineer structured and unstructured data for analysis.
- Build, validate, and optimize machine‑learning models (time‑series, NLP, vision, recommendation).
- Productionize models into reliable batch and real‑time pipelines at scale.
- Conduct code reviews, uphold unit‑test coverage, and observe CI/CD workflows.
- Prototype and validate AI concepts through rapid MVPs.
- Mentorship: coach junior scientists and engineering peers.
- Promote AI literacy by presenting demos, workshops, and internal talks.
- Monitor model performance, inform retraining cadence, and log production metrics.
**Required Skills**
- 6+ years in data science or related roles.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, sklearn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, etc.).
- Deep understanding of the ML lifecycle, including algorithm selection, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Experience with time‑series, NLP, vision, and recommendation systems.
- Familiarity with big‑data tools (Spark, Kafka, etc.) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Strong software‑engineering discipline: test‑driven development, code reviews, version control, CI/CD.
- Advanced analytical and statistical expertise (regression, hypothesis testing, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and mentorship abilities.
- Curiosity, proactivity, humility, and collaborative mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TensorFlow Developer, AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty) are a plus but not mandatory.
