Head of Solution Architecture and Technology Consulting (Senior Director)
**Role Summary**
Lead the UK and European Solution Architecture and Technology Consulting practice, driving strategic growth, architectural excellence, and end‑to‑end client engagements across multiple industry sectors. Provide visionary leadership, hands‑on technical expertise, and consultative guidance to CxO‑level stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
**Expectations**
- Executive‑level leadership of a multi‑disciplinary architecture and consulting team.
- Deep technical credibility as a senior architect or CTO, equivalent to hands‑on architectural design and software delivery.
- Proven ability to shape technology strategy, architecture road‑maps, and business cases that influence senior management and secure new business.
- Strong client‑facing presence, capable of leading pre‑sales, RFP responses, and POCs.
- Expertise in enterprise and composable architectures, cloud-native services (Azure/AWS/GCP), event‑driven patterns, and AI/LLM implementations.
- Experience in financial services or insurance preferred, with a solid grasp of platform solutions and domain requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define and steer the UK Solution Architecture and Technology Consulting practice strategy.
- Lead and mentor a team of Solution Architects and Technology Consultants, ensuring their professional growth.
- Deliver architectural reviews, audits, road‑mapping, and governance across multiple large‑scale projects.
- Formulate technology business cases and present them to executive stakeholders.
- Drive pre‑sales activities: RFP responses, POCs, and proof‑of‑concept development.
- Act as liaison among architects, consultants, delivery managers, product managers, and development teams.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and thought‑leadership events.
**Required Skills**
- Leadership and team management in a consulting or technology organization.
- Hands‑on senior architect or CTO experience; proven track record in architecture design, software development, and digital transformation.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, governance, security, scalability, resiliency, and low‑latency performance.
- Experience designing composable architectures, REST/HTTP APIs, event‑driven systems, and leveraging native cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies and their practical application.
- Strong client‑facing, consultative, and influence skills across executive levels.
- Ability to present complex concepts at conferences and in formal sales materials (RFPs, POCs).
- Cross‑disciplinary collaboration and delivery of technology streams for large‑scale transformations.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field OR equivalent relevant work experience.
- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent are desirable.
