Job Title: R&D Software Engineer Intern (Data Analytics & Web Applications)
Role Summary:
Intern develops and maintains data analytics pipelines, database solutions, and web applications. Works with cross‑functional teams to design, build, test, and deploy software using languages such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, and R, and web frameworks like Django, ASP.NET, Node.js, and R Shiny. Supports real‑world projects in the health technology domain.
Expactations:
• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student with at least one semester remaining after internship.
• Internship start on May 18 or 26 2026, 12‑week duration.
• Reliable transportation to the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or R.
• Build feature‑rich web applications and APIs using Django, ASP.NET, Node.js, and R Shiny.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Explore, analyze, and visualize data with R, Python, or BI tools.
• Assist in configuring and optimizing web servers (e.g., NGINX) and deployment pipelines.
• Implement security best practices and performance enhancements in production environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
• Maintain clear documentation of code, development processes, and system configurations.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively within the team.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in at least one high‑level programming language (Python, Java, C#, R).
• Familiarity with web frameworks and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (R, Python libraries).
• Basic experience with version control systems (Git).
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑player mindset and willingness to learn new technologies.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Enrolled in or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
