Data Scientist – Machine Learning Modelling
**Role Summary**
Innovate and deliver AI solutions for sports analytics. Design, develop, and production‑grade machine learning models on large sports data sets (e.g., soccer, tennis). Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to operationalize models within cloud pipelines, while guiding internal teams on AI best practices and emerging technologies.
**Expactations**
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in data science, computer science, mathematics or related STEM field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional data science experience.
- Strong command of Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, etc.).
- Proficiency in statistical modeling, neural networks, and modern architectures such as transformers or diffusion models.
- Cloud‑native model deployment (AWS, GCP, or similar).
- Excellent written and spoken English, with ability to present technical concepts to mixed audiences.
- Strong communication, mentorship, and collaboration skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct research, design, and implement innovative machine learning algorithms on diverse sports datasets.
- Translate prototypes into production‑ready models and integrate them into end‑to‑end cloud pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership to product, engineering, and business teams; present solutions and influence AI strategy.
- Identify new AI opportunities, define requirements, and shape solution roadmaps.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in model development and deployment.
**Required Skills**
- Python programming; SQL database querying.
- Machine learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, and others.
- Statistical techniques: GLM, GAM, tree‑based methods.
- Deep learning: neural networks, transformers, diffusion models.
- Cloud model deployment (AWS, GCP, etc.) and pipeline orchestration.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Master’s or PhD in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related STEM disciplines.
