Job Description
**Job Title:** Sanctions Transformation Lead **Role Summary:** Lead the Sanctions Change Team to design, build, and transition five critical sanctions‑compliance workstreams into full operational use. Provide end‑to‑end change management, ensuring new detection capabilities, workflow tools, and organizational structures meet regulatory requirements and drive operational efficiency. **Expactations:** - Deep, hands‑on expertise in international sanctions regulations within a financial institution. - Proven ability to manage large‑scale change programmes and technology implementations. - Strong stakeholder influence across IT, policy, operations, and business units. - Effective leadership of a specialised team and mentorship of junior staff. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define and implement a new Sanctions Evasion Detection capability (architecture, technology, policy, data). - Oversee transition of a bespoke in‑house case‑management system for sanctions alerts from build to production. - Manage change aspects of a potential redesign of securities‑related sanctions operations. - Coordinate change activities across all five workstreams, ensuring requirements are met and solutions are adopted. - Drive regulatory and compliance improvements for sanctions controls. - Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders. **Required Skills:** - Extensive knowledge of international sanctions regimes and practical application. - Change‑management expertise in financial services/compliance (large, complex programs). - Experience delivering technology/product implementations (case management, screening tools). - Strong analytical ability to assess models, define requirements, and evaluate operational impact. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. - Strategic thinking with the capability to translate compliance needs into actionable plans. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist, Certified Sanctions Specialist) desirable but not mandatory. - Continuous professional development in sanctions compliance and change management preferred.
