**Job title:** DevOps Lead
**Role Summary:**
Lead and architect end-to-end DevOps practices for a rapid‑scale startup. Own infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security across the product lifecycle while mentoring a mid‑level engineering team and collaborating closely with product leadership.
**Expactations:**
- 8–12 years of DevOps/SRE experience, with 2+ years in leadership or mentorship.
- Hands‑on expertise with Terraform, AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, etc.), Cloudflare, and GitHub Actions.
- Strong scripting in Python or Bash; solid DevSecOps mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to design observability for distributed/cloud‑native systems.
- Proven track record building and scaling CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience coaching teams in fast‑paced environments; influence technical strategy.
- Bonus: Snowflake knowledge.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and evolve IaC using Terraform, maintaining modular, reusable code.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions; enforce code quality and automated testing.
- Configure and manage Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, and security features.
- Build and maintain observability stack (metrics, logs, tracing) for cloud‑native services.
- Embed DevSecOps across pipelines: secret management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks.
- Mentor and grow a mid‑level DevOps team, providing coaching, code reviews, and career guidance.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to align infrastructure with business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation to increase deployment velocity and reliability.
- Foster a culture of best practices, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
**Required Skills:**
- Terraform, AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, etc.)
- Cloudflare configuration and management
- GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipeline design
- Scripting: Python, Bash (plus PowerShell optional)
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar
- DevSecOps: IaC security, secrets management, scanning tools
- Team leadership: mentorship, coaching, collaboration
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Terraform Associate, or equivalent highly desirable.
