Job Description
**Job title:** Backend Engineer, LegalTech **Role Summary:** Build, optimize, and maintain AI‑powered backend services for internal legal tools. Develop APIs that support document processing and workflow automation, integrate with AWS infrastructure, and ensure reliable, high‑performance production systems. **Expectations:** - Implement backend services for web applications. - Translate user feedback into functional, production‑ready solutions. - Manage and optimize AWS resources (Lambda, OpenSearch, S3). - Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain system reliability and performance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and develop APIs using Python (Flask or FastAPI). - Store and retrieve data via databases and manage related schemas. - Deploy and scale services on AWS (Lambda, OpenSearch, S3). - Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices. - Collaborate with senior engineers, product owners, and stakeholders. **Required Skills:** - 1+ year software engineering experience focused on backend development. - Strong proficiency in Python programming. - Experience with APIs, web frameworks (Flask/FastAPI), and relational/no‑SQL databases. - Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Lambda, OpenSearch) or a strong desire to learn. - Understanding of DevOps concepts: CI/CD, IaC, cloud security, monitoring. - Analytical problem‑solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies. **Required Education & Certifications:** - STEM bachelor's degree preferred (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field). - No specific certifications required.
