Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary:
Lead the development, deployment, and operation of Aircall’s AWS cloud infrastructure. Drive high‑quality, resilient production services through automation, observability, and secure design. Mentor junior teammates, lead project ownership, and ensure performance, scalability, and compliance across the stack.
Expectations:
- 5+ years hands‑on experience provisioning, managing, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation/SAM), CI/CD (GitLab, ArgoCD), monitoring (Datadog), and container orchestration (EKS, Docker).
- Strong DevOps mindset; ability to translate product needs into scalable, secure architecture.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering and product teams.
- Self‑directed delivery, minimal oversight, and ability to evaluate and interview candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS services (Compute, Storage, Databases, Networking, Security) using Terraform/CloudFormation.
- Build and run CI/CD pipelines; ensure automated testing, code quality, and deployment reliability.
- Lead engineering design discussions, code reviews, and documentation.
- Architect and monitor observability (logging, metrics, alerts) using Datadog; troubleshoot incidents and lead incident management.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct performance improvements.
- Identify and resolve blockers, drive initiatives from ideation through delivery, and maintain strong product and technical knowledge.
Required Skills:
- AWS – Compute (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda), Storage (S3, EBS), Databases (RDS Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Neptune, Redshift), Networking, IAM, Security.
- IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation (including SAM).
- DevOps: CI/CD (GitLab, ArgoCD), containerization (Docker, EKS), service mesh (Istio), automation (Ansible, Shell).
- Monitoring & Observability: Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus.
- Scripting/Programming: Bash, Python, Go (preferred).
- Strong understanding of security best practices, performance tuning, scalability, and incident management.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- AWS certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer) highly preferred.
