**Job title:** Data Analyst Apprentice **Role Summary:** A 24‑month Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship designed to develop foundational data‑analysis capabilities within a municipal performance and insights team. The apprentice will collaborate with analysts, technical specialists, and community groups to collect, clean, analyse, and visualise data, turning raw information into clear, actionable insights that influence council services. **Expectations:** - Complete Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship training on time. - Apply analytical tools and techniques in real projects. - Communicate findings effectively to non‑technical stakeholders. - Maintain high standards of data quality and integrity. - Demonstrate continuous learning and adaptability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Gather requirements from business partners to identify data needs. - Work with technical experts to extract, transform, and load data. - Clean and standardise messy datasets for analysis. - Build dashboards and visualisations (e.g., Power BI) accessible to a broad audience. - Produce written and presented insights that inform service design and improvement. - Support the team’s evidence‑based decision‑making culture. - Participate in cross‑functional meetings to refine analytical approaches. **Required Skills:** - Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking. - Clear verbal and written communication; ability to explain complex concepts simply. - Team collaboration and relationship‑building. - Focused, deliverable‑driven in a fast‑moving environment. - Basic familiarity or willingness to learn Power BI, Python, R, and SQL. - Interest in public‑sector data and service improvement. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Completion of the Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship standard (via Skills England). - Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship). - Minimum full‑time study qualification suitable for Level 4 (e.g., GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent).
