**Job Title**
Product Owner – API Management (PaaS)
**Role Summary**
Lead the strategy and roadmap for API management solutions within a PaaS portfolio. Own end‑to‑end delivery—from planning and backlog grooming to Build‑to‑Run and Run operations—ensuring APIs meet user needs, performance, security, and cost objectives. Coordinate a technical squad, liaise with vendors and group interoperability teams, manage budget, and drive continuous improvement through technology scouting.

- Deliver the product roadmap in alignment with senior product and service managers.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog and coordinate sprint execution with the squad.
- Ensure API performance, security, and operational excellence across Build, Build‑to‑Run, and Run phases.
- Manage budget allocations for Build and Run, optimizing cost efficiency.
- Conduct technology watch to keep the solution competitive and relevant.
- Maintain up‑to‑date product documentation and architecture artifacts.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own and evolve the API management product roadmap, translating CPO/SDM directives into actionable plans.
- Groom and manage the product backlog, facilitating squad ceremonies and stakeholder reviews.
- Coordinate cross‑functional activities (Build, Build‑to‑Run, Run) and ensure timely milestone delivery.
- Lead squad meetings, stakeholder communication, and product governance processes.
- Monitor and report on product performance, security, and operational metrics.
- Interface with solution vendors, ensuring alignment with integration and interoperability standards.
- Prepare and monitor Build budgets, assess Run costs, and propose optimizations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adopt emerging API technologies.
- Keep product documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational manuals current.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in API management or platform services.
- Deep understanding of API lifecycle management (design, deployment, monitoring, governance).
- Agile/Scrum proficiency: backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into business value and vice versa.
- Budgeting and cost‑management skills for Build and Run phases.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, PaaS, and integration patterns.
- Proactive technology scouting and ability to evaluate new tools and frameworks.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Product Management certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMI‑PMI, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Knowledge of API standards (REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL) and security practices (OAuth2, JWT, API gateway).
