Job title: Associate Data Science Manager Role Summary: Lead a cross‑functional data science team to develop and evolve data domains and products that support business objectives. Drive change management, process improvement, and agile delivery while collaborating with product management to accelerate engineering velocity and ensure clear career paths for team members. Expectations: - Deliver data‑product solutions that meet strategic business needs. - Maintain high team motivation, cohesion, and professional development. - Achieve project objectives within scope, schedule, and budget. - Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders in both English and French. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, develop, and implement methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured data sets. 2. Oversee daily operations of data initiatives, ensuring tactical plans are executed efficiently. 3. Allocate resources accurately and track utilization against planned commitments. 4. Define and monitor SMART objectives for the data science team. 5. Create career development pathways and provide mentorship. 6. Partner with product management to roadmap and deliver capabilities, boosting engineering team velocity. 7. Identify and remedy process deficiencies, leading implementation of effective solutions. 8. Champion Agile SCRUM practices across the team. 9. Deliver work products on time, within budget, and to quality standards. 10. Manage recruitment and onboarding for project needs. Required Skills: - Expertise in data domain architecture and data‑product development. - Strong project management skills (planning, scheduling, resource allocation). - Proficiency in Agile/SCRUM methodologies; ability to lead sprints and retrospectives. - Leadership qualities: team cohesion, motivation, mentorship, and clear communication. - Bilingual fluency in English and French. - Critical thinking, curiosity, honesty, ambition, and an entrepreneurial mindset. - Ability to collaborate with product management and engineering leads. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, IT Project Management, or equivalent field. - ≥5 years of software engineering experience. - ≥1–2 years of project management experience. - Professional certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, PMP) are desirable but not mandatory.
