Job Description
**Job title:** Staff Engineer (.NET) **Role Summary:** Lead technical design, architecture and modernization of the core Benefits product platform. Own the long‑term technical vision, drive cloud‑native migration, mentor mid‑senior engineers, and collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver scalable, high‑availability backend services. **Expectations:** - 10+ years of progressive backend development experience. - Deep expertise in C#, .NET Framework / .NET Core. - Proven ability to lead large‑scale architecture decisions and influence product strategy. - Strong mentorship and communication skills across engineering teams. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Define, own and evolve the long‑term technical vision and architectural roadmap for the Benefits platform. 2. Act as the primary technical authority for C#/.NET Core and cloud‑native solutions, solving complex architectural and performance challenges. 3. Drive modernization from legacy systems to a scalable, Kubernetes/GKE‑based cloud platform utilizing Google Pub/Sub. 4. Design, develop, and maintain highly‑available, secure, and performant backend services in C#/.NET Core. 5. Champion end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines, implementing canary, blue/green deployment strategies and automated reliability testing. 6. Resolve technical trade‑offs and align dependencies with Principal/Staff Engineers and product leadership. 7. Provide mentorship and coaching to senior and mid‑level engineers, elevating technical capabilities. 8. Collaborate with teams using other technologies (e.g., Java Spring Boot) to specify robust integration contracts and share knowledge. **Required Skills:** - Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core. - Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, GKE, Google Pub/Sub, and cloud‑native architecture. - Strong SQL design and optimization skills. - Experience with CI/CD tooling, canary/blue‑green deployments, and automated testing. - Proficiency in performance profiling, scalability, and fault tolerance. - Architecture and system design expertise for large, distributed systems. - Leadership, mentorship, and cross‑team collaboration skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). - Optional: GCP, Kubernetes, or .NET certifications preferred.
