Job Description
Job title: Linux Administrator Role Summary Responsible for the deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of Linux workstations and servers within large‑scale datacenters, supporting production and internal IT systems. Works closely with infrastructure teams to implement orchestration, virtualisation, disaster recovery and security policies. Expectations - Deliver a fully managed Linux environment that meets high availability, security, and performance standards. - Participate in architecture decisions and technology migrations, keeping systems current and compliant. - Communicate effectively with internal users and cross‑functional teams to provide support and training. Key Responsibilities - Deploy, configure, and maintain a fleet of Linux workstations (Rocky, RHEL 9). - Monitor, optimise, and patch Linux servers and workstations, applying updates via tools such as Foreman, Puppet, Ansible and Terraform. - Detect, analyse and resolve incidents; escalates per documented procedures. - Produce and keep up‑to‑date technical and functional documentation (deployment guides, runbooks, security policies). - Design, lead and implement evolution projects (Kubernetes orchestration, virtualisation enhancements, disaster‑recovery plans). - Coach and support internal IT staff on Linux best practices (levels N1–N3). - Collaborate with engineers to manage LDAP/FreeIPA identities, PKI certificates, XDR tools, and cloud services (AWS). - Manage and version system configurations in GitLab and Arbor, and deploy to production using a CI/CD pipeline. Required Skills - Proven experience in Linux administration/engineering (workstation & server). - Hands‑on expertise with Ovirt, Kubernetes (K8s), Foreman, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, and AWS. - Strong knowledge of Linux security, packaging, and system integration. - Certificate management (PKI, TLS) experience. - Familiarity with XDR/MAS technology and incident response workflows. - Ability to work effectively in a technical team, write clear documentation and deliver training. - Analytical, methodical, and globally oriented mindset. - Fluent in English; French is an asset. - Immediate availability required.
