Job Description
**Job Title** Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) **Role Summary** Lead the strategic development and delivery of the Trust’s digital, data, cyber, and technology-enabled transformation. Drive the Digital Enabling Plan, oversee capital programmes, and manage the Health Informatics Directorate to ensure resilient infrastructure, high‑quality data, and modern clinical and corporate systems that support safe, high‑quality care. **Expectations** - Shape digital innovation to improve patient outcomes, staff experience, and operational effectiveness across mental health, learning disability, and community services. - Champion the five‑year strategy and 28 promises, influencing transformation locally, regionally, and nationally. - Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board, providing assurance on digital performance, compliance, and innovation. - Represent the Trust in Integrated Care System (ICS) forums and national digital platforms, fostering interoperability and population health improvement. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Strategic Leadership** – Develop and execute the Trust’s digital enabling strategy, cyber security posture, informatics, and digital infrastructure roadmap. 2. **Capital Programme Oversight** – Manage multi‑million‑pound digital projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and alignment with clinical objectives. 3. **Data Governance & Cyber Resilience** – Implement data quality frameworks, risk management, and cyber resilience measures to safeguard patient information. 4. **Health Informatics Directorate Management** – Lead the Health Informatics team, ensuring delivery of resilient systems, data integration, and user support. 5. **Stakeholder Engagement** – Build partnerships with NHS organisations, suppliers, and external agencies to enhance interoperability and service transformation. 6. **Board & Executive Reporting** – Provide regular updates on digital performance, risk, and innovation to the senior leadership team and Board. 7. **Cultural Transformation** – Inspire a digital-first mindset across the Trust, promoting continuous improvement and evidence‑based decision making. **Required Skills** - Proven NHS leadership experience in digital transformation and clinical technology. - Strategic planning, programme and project management (Prince2, PMP, or equivalent). - Strong cyber security and data governance knowledge (CISSP, CISM, COBIT). - Stakeholder engagement and partnership development at regional and national levels. - Excellent communication, influencing, and change‑management capabilities. - Analytical mindset with data‑driven decision‑making skills. - In‑depth understanding of UK health IT regulations, standards, and frameworks. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum degree in health informatics, computer science, biomedical engineering, or related field. - Master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline preferred. - Professional certifications: CISSP, CISM, ITIL, Prince2, PMP, or equivalent. - NHS Leadership Academy or similar leadership development credential highly desirable.
