Job Description
**Job Title** Vice President, Business Development **Role Summary** Senior revenue‑generation leader responsible for aggressively expanding the company’s footprint in the life‑sciences market. Drives new‑client acquisition, builds senior‑level relationships, and leads the full sales cycle for agency, consultancy/HEOR, and proprietary product offerings. Partners with internal subject‑matter experts to craft solutions, negotiate contracts, and transition customers to delivery teams. **Expectations** - Develop and execute an annual Territory Business Plan, updated monthly, to meet or exceed sales‑booking targets. - Generate and close high‑value opportunities within small‑ to mid‑size pharma and biotech firms. - Maintain a robust pipeline in Salesforce and achieve quarterly/annual revenue goals. - Foster executive‑level client relationships that produce repeat and cross‑sell business. - Provide competitive intelligence and market feedback to sales, marketing, and product teams. **Key Responsibilities** - Create and own client‑specific growth strategies; manage prospecting, solution design, SOW finalization, and hand‑off to service/product teams. - Lead presentations, proposals, and negotiations; develop value‑based pricing models. - Coordinate go‑to‑market motions with Practice Areas, Chief Business Office, Sales Operations, and Marketing. - Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, webinars, and other lead‑generation events. - Track and report pipeline activity, forecasts, and performance metrics in Salesforce. - Drive cross‑selling initiatives and expand market share within prioritized accounts. - Communicate client needs and feedback to internal teams to refine offerings. **Required Skills** - Proven business‑development/sales leadership in life sciences (pharma/biotech). - Strong hunter mentality with a record of meeting/exceeding revenue targets. - Strategic planning and territory management expertise. - Excellent executive‑level relationship building and negotiation skills. - Solution selling, proposal development, and value‑based pricing experience. - Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM; strong analytical and reporting abilities. - Ability to collaborate across functional teams and influence without direct authority. - Outstanding presentation and communication skills; comfortable speaking at industry events. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field (required). - MBA or advanced degree (preferred). - Minimum 10 + years of business‑development experience in the life‑sciences sector, with a significant portion in senior leadership roles. - Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, sales certifications) are a plus.
