**Job Title**
Managing Director – New Business
**Role Summary**
Lead new client acquisition and relationship management for private equity, sovereign wealth funds, infrastructure, and equity investors. Focus on client origination, strategic growth, and expanding service uptake with sophisticated buyside clients, while stepping away from transaction execution.
**Expectations**
- Deliver measurable new business growth and revenue targets.
- Build, nurture, and deepen relationships with senior decision‑makers of PE, SWF, and institutional investors.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote thought leadership.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on commercial strategy and market segmentation.
- Operate independently with strong commission‑based incentives and management equity components.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Source and acquire new business opportunities in the private equity and financial sponsor space.
- Own end‑to‑end client engagement: identification, pitch, negotiation, and post‑deal nurturing.
- Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, geopolitical drivers, and capital flows to advise clients accordingly.
- Work with product, advisory, and execution teams to design and deliver tailored solutions (cyber‑security, due diligence, restructuring, crisis management).
- Drive account expansion by identifying cross‑sell and upsell opportunities.
- Forecast pipeline, revenue, and related metrics for senior leadership.
- Mentor junior team members on client relationship playbooks and new business strategies.
**Required Skills**
- Strong network of senior contacts in PE, SWFs, infrastructure, and equity funds.
- Proven track record of originating and closing new business deals ($1M+ in transaction value is ideal).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Deep knowledge of private equity markets, global investment trends, and geopolitical risk.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a senior leadership team.
- Familiarity with advisory services such as due diligence, cyber‑security, corporate strategy, and litigation support.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certification (CFA, CPA, LLM, or equivalent) is advantageous but not mandatory.
