Job Description

Job title: Lead QA Engineer Role Summary: Lead QA Engineer responsible for building and maturing the testing function from the ground up, defining processes, automating tests, and embedding a quality-first culture within an agile eCommerce organization. Expactations: First QA hire to design testing strategy, drive continuous improvement, collaborate with product and engineering, and explore AI-enhanced testing solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement QA processes, standards, and testing frameworks. - Execute manual and automated tests across web, mobile, and API layers. - Develop and maintain test automation using Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, AWS). - Track defects, generate quality metrics, and recommend improvements. - Define acceptance criteria with product managers and represent quality in sprint planning. - Champion a quality-first mindset across the engineering team. Required Skills: - Demonstrated experience as an early or first QA hire (or strong capability to fulfill that role). - Proficient manual testing across web, mobile, and API platforms. - Hands‑on automation expertise with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum principles and sprint ceremonies. - Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and AWS services. - Comfortable working with version control, defect tracking, and metrics reporting. - Curiosity about applying AI techniques to improve testing efficiency. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - ISTQB or other QA certification is preferred.
