Job Description
Job Title: Management Accountant Role Summary: Responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, conducting detailed reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting senior management financial reporting and audit processes. Drives process improvements and ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Expectations: - Deliver accurate financial information within tight deadlines. - Identify trends, provide analytical insights, and explain the narrative behind the numbers. - Work independently while collaborating cross‑functionally to support operational and cost efficiencies. - Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels. - Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement and continuous learning. Key Responsibilities: - Lead production of monthly management accounts. - Ensure revenue and expense recognition aligns with reporting standards. - Prepare and review P&L and balance sheet schedules. - Post journals, reconcile control accounts, and handle balance sheet reconciliations. - Support purchase order management and financial controls. - Prepare financial reports for senior management and assist with audit and annual statements. - Conduct monthly variance analysis with commentary. - Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function. - Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting as required. - Collaborate with business units to drive operational and cost efficiencies. Required Skills: - Solid experience in a finance/accounting department. - Strong analytical and numerical abilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. - Knowledge of Sage X3 (beneficial but not mandatory). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Proactive mindset with continuous improvement focus. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, or related field. - Part‑qualified CIMA or ACCA (preferred but not mandatory).
