Job Description

**Job Title:** HL7 Integration Specialist **Role Summary:** Design, develop, test, and maintain data‑transfer interfaces within NHS integration engines using HL7, FHIR, XML, and communication protocols (REST, SOAP, MLLP). Ensure interfaces meet quality, governance, and security standards, and monitor their daily operation. **Expectations:** - Hybrid or remote work arrangement. - Right to work in the United Kingdom. - Proven experience with HL7 standards and NHS environments. - SQL knowledge preferred. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create and maintain HL7, FHIR, XML interfaces and related mapping tables. - Conduct unit, integration, regression testing and obtain sign‑off. - Coordinate with application managers and technical staff on data mapping. - Ensure compliance with governance and security policies. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and report on interface performance and usage. **Required Skills:** - Strong knowledge of HL7 messaging standards. - Experience with FHIR, XML, REST, SOAP, and MLLP protocols. - Ability to design, develop, and test integration interfaces. - SQL querying and database familiarity. - Effective communication and teamwork with cross‑functional stakeholders. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Typically a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - HL7, FHIR, or other relevant integration certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
