**Job Title:** Senior DevOps Engineer, CoCounsel for Government
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines for government‑focused solutions. Lead automation, container orchestration, and observability initiatives while ensuring compliance with FedRAMP, FIPS, and related standards. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a remote‑first, hybrid environment.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver highly available, automated production environments on AWS (or comparable cloud).
- Integrate security and compliance controls throughout the DevOps lifecycle.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines to maximize developer productivity and minimize downtime.
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to the DevOps team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC (CloudFormation or equivalent).
2. Implement and manage container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS) and serverless services (Lambda, App Service, Cloud Run).
3. Develop production‑grade automation scripts and tooling in Python; leverage Ansible for configuration management where applicable.
4. Design, build, and sustain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
5. Embed security best practices and government compliance (FedRAMP, FIPS) in all environments.
6. Deploy and operate observability stacks (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana) for monitoring, APM, and incident response.
7. Collaborate with product, engineering, and InfoSec teams to define infrastructure and deployment strategies.
8. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote DevOps best practices.
**Required Skills:**
- 4+ years in DevOps/SRE or related roles, with deep AWS experience (or GCP/Azure).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar).
- Expertise in container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS) and serverless computing.
- Advanced Python scripting/automation; familiarity with Ansible a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FIPS).
- Experience with modern deployment patterns (microservices, immutable infrastructure, blue/green, canary).
- Proficient with observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and remote‑team coordination skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or comparable GCP/Azure certifications.
