**Job title**: Legal Assistant **Role Summary**: Provide administrative and legal support within the Child Protection team, collaborating with solicitors on court‑related cases, care proceedings, and disclosure requests. Manage documentation, liaise with Family Courts and other stakeholders, ensure compliance with data protection, and analyse case data using Excel. **Expactations**: - Work independently with minimum supervision. - Handle a varied caseload under tight deadlines. - Maintain accurate, professional, and client‑focused service. - Demonstrate resilience when dealing with sensitive material. **Key Responsibilities**: - Assist solicitors in child protection legal cases and care proceedings. - Prepare, file, and manage court documents and disclosure requests. - Liaise with Family Courts, CAFCASS, lawyers, council stakeholders, and citizens. - Apply data protection rules and redact documents where required. - Collect, organise, and analyse case data in Excel. - Use the legal case‑management system to track case progress. - Prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and support team objectives. **Required Skills**: - Legal case support or administrative experience (preferred). - Understanding of family law, child protection, and court procedures. - Knowledge of data protection legislation and document redaction. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic statistical analysis. - IT literacy, including use of legal case‑management software. - Strong organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking abilities. - Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Ability to handle sensitive and distressing content with professionalism. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Relevant legal, administrative, or social‑services qualification or equivalent experience. - Ability to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
