**Job Title:** Engineering Manager – Connectivity
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of the connectivity platform that integrates hotel, airline, and activity suppliers (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, GetYourGuide). Manage a squad of software engineers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while aligning technical solutions with business objectives.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver a scalable, distributed architecture for real‑time data ingestion and processing.
- Build and maintain robust connectors to third‑party APIs for pricing, inventory, and booking flows.
- Optimize latency, availability, and resilience of data pipelines.
- Mentor and grow a high‑performance engineering team.
- Drive technical strategy and adoption of emerging distributed‑system technologies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and evolve a cloud‑native, distributed platform.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and data integration pipelines for suppliers.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all integrations.
- Lead Agile ceremonies, prioritize backlogs, and manage sprint delivery.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and Business teams to define roadmap and requirements.
- Conduct code reviews, set engineering standards, and promote best practices.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and drive post‑mortem processes.
- Stay informed on industry trends in distributed systems and travel‑tech integrations.
**Required Skills:**
- 7–9 years total experience; 4–5 years in a managerial role, 3–4 years in connectivity or travel‑tech domain.
- Expert in Java (Spring, Quarkus) and RESTful API development.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, large‑scale data processing, and event‑driven architectures.
- Experience with distributed databases (Cassandra, MongoDB) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proven ability to design, build, and scale real‑time data pipelines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with travel‑industry APIs (Amadeus Hospitality, Sabre, Travelport, GetYourGuide) and reservation workflows.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Java SE Certification, or equivalent cloud/Java credentials.
