Job Description
Job Title: Trainee Merchandiser Role Summary: Entry‑level merchandising support role focused on operational accuracy, data analysis, and seasonal trading for a fashion retailer. Works closely with Merchandisers and cross‑functional teams to maintain product systems, execute trading actions, and prepare reports that drive category performance. Expectations: - Demonstrate reliability and precision in data entry and system updates. - Show initiative in learning merchandising processes and tools. - Communicate proactively with suppliers, internal teams, and senior merchandisers. - Maintain confidentiality of internal data and adhere to compliance standards. - Accept constructive feedback and actively seek development opportunities. Key Responsibilities: - Execute stock and trading actions during seasonal peaks, sales, and store openings. - Prepare and deliver data for trading decisions; attend Lessons Learnt meetings to analyse product mixes. - Manage size ratios and lead times in the NEXT Product System; track and resolve issues via Power BI. - Raise and amend contracts using the Contract Tracker, ensuring alignment with the Critical Path. - Attend Critical Path meetings; follow up on actions and communicate risks to stakeholders. - Monitor intake, process Permissions to Ship, and flag delays or logistics issues. - Compile and circulate Sales & Stock reports, weekly bestsellers, and trading insights. - Perform in‑week sales analyses; propose actions such as stock pushes, fast covers, and warehouse transfers. - Support launch preparation by setting up core data and ensuring timely inventory movement. - Participate in peer learning, store visits, and broader merchandising initiatives. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and quantitative abilities; experience analysing sales and stock data. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data visualization tools (Power BI). - Familiarity with product merchandising systems and contract management tools. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare clear reports and present findings. - Detail‑oriented, accurate in data entry and system updates. - Collaborative teamwork and willingness to take ownership of tasks. - Adaptability and proactive problem‑solving in a fast‑paced retail environment. **Job Title** Junior Merchandiser **Role Summary** Drive commercial performance for assigned menswear categories by managing financial planning, stock control, and in‑season trading. Collaborate closely with buying, design, and cross‑functional teams to deliver product ranges on time, within budget, and aligned with brand objectives.
