Job Description
**Job Title** Software Engineering Team Lead **Role Summary** Lead a core software development team of 8‑15 engineers within a large, complex organization. Drive technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement while collaborating closely with product, design, and operations to deliver high‑quality software at scale. **Expectations** - Mentor and coach engineers to maximize individual and team performance. - Facilitate a collaborative, communication‑friendly culture that supports work‑life balance. - Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and quality. - Support team members’ career and learning paths through coaching and training. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Team Leadership** – Guide technical direction, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback. 2. **Mentorship & Development** – Coach engineers on coding standards, architecture, and career progression. 3. **Process Ownership** – Define and refine agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, code review guidelines, and defect management. 4. **Technical Ownership** – Maintain deep understanding of the technology stack; make architectural decisions and review pull requests. 5. **Stakeholder Collaboration** – Work with product managers, designers, and quality assurance to translate business requirements into technical deliverables. 6. **Performance Management** – Set objectives, monitor progress, and conduct performance reviews for team members. **Required Skills** - Proven experience leading software development teams (5+ years in engineering, 2+ years in lead/managerial role). - Strong background as a software engineer, with expertise in the company’s tech stack (e.g., Java, JavaScript, cloud services). - Deep knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies, CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality practices. - Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to mentor and inspire. - Demonstrated experience improving development processes and tooling. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, AWS Certified Developer) are advantageous but not mandatory.
