Job Description: **Job Title** Senior Network & Firewall Engineer (Freelance) **Role Summary** Design, implement, and maintain complex IT networks with a focus on security, performance, and availability. Provide third‑level technical support, develop and document processes, train colleagues, and oversee quality of deliverables across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. **Expectations** - Minimum three days per week on‑site presence. - Work during standard business hours. - Manage schedule to accommodate service continuity and project demands. **Key Responsibilities** - Administer and evolve networking infrastructure on a day‑to‑day basis. - Manage firewall security, configuration, and upgrades. - Lead infrastructure migration or upgrade projects under IT supervision. - Provide level‑3 technical support; document incidents and resolution procedures. - Create technical architecture diagrams. - Deploy solutions in on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. - Validate project deliverables against quality standards. - Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer. **Required Skills** - Extensive experience as a Senior Network Engineer. - Proficiency in disaster recovery planning (DRP) design, deployment, and support. - Deep knowledge of DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols. - Expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama management. - Strong technical documentation and process‑writing skills. - Incident monitoring and response capabilities. - Network segregation and security best practices. - Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and French is an asset. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Professional certifications such as Palo Alto Networks PA‑400/PA‑400, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or equivalent.
