**Job Title**
Senior IT Systems & Operations Engineer F/H
**Role Summary**
Provide advanced (Level 2/3) support, run‑time maintenance, and deployment of IT systems (Workstations, Servers, Tablets, Network) on a maritime fleet. Lead the full life‑cycle of shipboard IT assets, drive cybersecurity initiatives, automate operational processes, and ensure continuous availability of critical systems.
**Expectations**
- Deliver 24/7 operational support for ships and crew.
- Own incident, problem, and change management end‑to‑end.
- Proactively identify risks, plan obsolescence cycles, and enforce security best practices.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for maintenance and upgrades.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for Windows, Linux, macOS and virtualized environments.
- Deploy, configure, and monitor workstations, servers, tablets, and onboard network devices (Switches, Firewalls, Wi‑Fi/LAN).
- Conduct root‑cause analysis, incident resolution, and post‑mortem reporting (RCA).
- Manage daily operational backlog, prioritize builds, incidents, and projects.
- Design and implement industrialised processes: monitoring, backup/recovery, automation, and security controls.
- Maintain IT asset inventory, capacity planning, and vulnerability management on ships.
- Coordinate commissioning/decommissioning of IT equipment and applications.
- Produce and maintain documentation and procedures (service catalog, operational manuals, SOPs).
- Communicate technical information to all stakeholder levels.
**Required Skills**
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Deep technical expertise in PC/Server hardware, Windows, Linux, macOS, virtualization, and remote administration tools.
- Proficiency in networking (switching, firewall, Wi‑Fi, LAN).
- Experience with help‑desk ticketing (ServiceNow or equivalent).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Monitoring, alerting, and log‑management experience (e.g., Splunk, ELK, or similar).
- Project and activity management with international leadership experience.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English; French beneficial but not mandatory.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Professional certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator/Engineer, MCSE/CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+/Network+, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent.
- Availability for 24/7 support duties.
