Job Title: DevOps Engineer MTS
Role Summary:
Responsible for designing, deploying, and continuously improving infrastructure services such as logging, monitoring, and alerting for a large distributed systems platform. Owns process development for provisioning, scaling, configuration management, and capacity planning to enhance operational visibility and reliability across the organization.
Expectations:
- Deliver high‑quality infrastructure services in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
- Own daily operational goals and participate in on‑call rotation to maintain service availability.
- Drive automation, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and refine infrastructure services (logging, monitoring, alerting).
- Scope work, manage backlog, and ensure predictable delivery.
- Define long‑range platform requirements and operational guidelines focused on automation.
- Develop standard processes for provisioning, scaling, configuration management, and capacity planning.
- Analyze platform usage and drive continuous improvement based on customer feedback.
- Implement coding, testing, and deployment best practices.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for real‑time issue resolution.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of DevOps or related experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or Ruby).
- Hands‑on Linux, networking, server, and cloud architecture knowledge.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, or Ansible).
- AWS or other cloud PaaS experience.
- Strong understanding of DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, SQL, HTTP.
- Ability to manage large cloud‑hosted systems (auto‑scaling, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, disaster recovery).
- Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- On‑call participation.
Preferred Skills:
- Containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Go programming familiarity.
- Cloud security and best practices knowledge.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
