**Job Title**:
Data Governance Subject Matter Expert
**Role Summary**:
Lead the design, implementation, and operationalization of enterprise-wide data governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, data quality, and transparency across Microsoft ecosystems.
**Expectations**:
- Deliver end‑to‑end data governance programs from framework to day‑to‑day operations.
- Translate regulatory requirements into actionable controls.
- Advocate governance practices at senior‑level forums and drive adoption across business units.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design and implement governance frameworks, policies, and operating models.
- Define ownership, stewardship, and role‑based access controls.
- Establish data quality frameworks: rules, metrics, dashboards, and monitoring.
- Maintain metadata catalogs, lineage, and critical data element documentation.
- Lead governance councils, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
- Provide expert advisory on regulatory compliance (GDPR, BCBS 239, Solvency II).
- Monitor and report on data quality KPIs and governance health.
**Required Skills**:
- 8–12+ years in data management/gov, 5+ years leading enterprise governance.
- Proven implementation of frameworks, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage.
- Hands‑on with Microsoft Purview, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Power BI, and the broader Azure data platform.
- Regulatory knowledge: GDPR, BCBS 239, Solvency II, local laws.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication; able to translate technical and regulatory concepts to business leaders.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and tools like Profisee is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Management and Governance, Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or equivalent are desirable.
