**Job Title**
Data Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store data from diverse sources. Ensure high data quality, scalability, and performance of data platforms to support analytical and product needs across multiple industries.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles
- Proven ability to build robust, reusable data solutions in a rapidly evolving environment
- Proactive contributor to process improvement, documentation, and team knowledge sharing
**Key Responsibilities**
- Extract, collect, and transform data from multiple source systems into a unified data warehouse or lake
- Design and implement scalable, high‑performance ETL/ELT processes (batch & streaming)
- Manage data sources, metadata, and database schemas to support downstream analytics and reporting
- Enforce and monitor data quality standards throughout the data lifecycle
- Propose and evaluate new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve data engineering operations
- Mentor junior team members and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions
**Required Skills**
- Strong proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)
- Experience with programming languages used for data pipelines (Python, Scala, Java)
- Hands‑on with ETL tools/frameworks (Apache Airflow, dbt, Talend, Informatica)
- Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS – Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena; GCP – BigQuery, Dataflow; Azure – Synapse)
- Familiarity with big data processing engines (Apache Spark, Flink) and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Understanding of data modeling, lakehouse concepts, and data governance principles
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code and well‑documented data pipelines
- Optional: experience in data visualization (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is an advantage
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate are highly regarded.
