Translate institutional priorities into compelling external messages, coordinate high‑impact campaigns, events, and partnership communications, while strengthening internal alignment and adopting innovative digital solutions. **Expectations** - Deliver strategic, coherent, and credible communications that enhance CGIAR’s visibility, influence, and trust. - Foster cross‑center collaboration for consistent messaging and brand application. - Innovate using emerging communication technologies (AI‑driven content, advanced event tech). - Manage risk through proactive crisis communication planning. - Provide leadership for a multidisciplinary communications team and oversee budget and performance metrics. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Strategic Planning** – Develop and oversee system‑level communications plans covering Centers, Initiatives, and corporate functions. 2. **Internal Communications** – Design and implement approaches that improve alignment, clarity, and change management across CGIAR. 3. **External Engagement** – - Advise senior leadership on public communications and high‑profile stakeholder interactions. - Align campaigns, events, and outreach with resource mobilization and institutional objectives. 4. **Brand Stewardship** – Lead the evolution and application of CGIAR’s institutional brand and narrative system‑wide. 5. **Technology Integration** – Coordinate the use of CMS, DAM, CRM, event‑management, and AI tools to deliver secure, seamless global experiences. 6. **Campaign & Event Management** – Plan, execute, and evaluate multichannel campaigns and major forums, ensuring strategic alignment and compelling storytelling. 7. **Content Translation** – Convert complex scientific outputs into clear narratives for policy, advocacy, and global moments. 8. **Performance Monitoring** – Track digital engagement, media partnerships, and communication metrics to improve reach and learning. 9. **Team Leadership** – Build, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary communications team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. 10. **Risk & Crisis Management** – Identify and manage strategic communication risks, support the rapid‑response team, and maintain the crisis communications protocol. 11. **Internal Collaboration** – Strengthen information flows and engagement to promote shared understanding across CGIAR. **Required Skills** - Strategic communications and brand management - Stakeholder engagement across sectors and cultures - Campaign and event planning, including budgeting and metrics analysis - Proficient with CMS, DAM, CRM, and emerging digital tools (AI content, event tech) - Crisis communication planning and rapid‑response coordination - Leadership, team building, and cross‑functional collaboration - Persuasive writing and storytelling that translates scientific content into accessible narratives - Analysis of digital engagement and media performance - Project management and ability to prioritize high‑impact initiatives. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. - Advanced degree or professional certification in communications, PR, or digital marketing preferred. - Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, brand management, or a similar senior role.
