Job Description
Job title: Information Technology Consultant Role Summary: Provide critical IT support and strategic enhancements for a game development studio during a 6‑month paternity leave cover. Maintain seamless Unreal Engine 5 workflows, build pipelines, and console dev kit management while ensuring infrastructure stability, security compliance, and cost forecasting. Expectations: • Deliver uninterrupted IT operations throughout the contract term. • Configure and maintain optimized UE5 development environments for PC and console. • Ensure build systems, source control, and CI/CD pipelines run reliably. • Oversee console dev kit setup, platform compliance, and asset storage. • Implement security policies, data protection, and cost‑effective infrastructure solutions. • Provide clear documentation and knowledge transfer to the IT team. Key Responsibilities: • Provide day‑to‑day support for UE5 production. • Configure and maintain automated build & deployment pipelines (Perforce/Git, CI/CD). • Manage console development kits (PlayStation, Xbox) and verify compliance. • Forecast and manage infrastructure needs and budget. • Troubleshoot technical issues, log solutions, and update knowledge base. • Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement process improvements. Required Skills: • Proven experience supporting Unreal Engine 5 teams. • Hands‑on with UE5 configuration, build systems, Perforce/Git, and CI/CD pipelines. • Familiarity with PlayStation, Xbox dev kits and platform compliance. • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, creative environment. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). • Minimum 3–5 years of IT support or systems engineering experience in the games industry (AAA or mid‑size studio).
