Job Description
**Job title**: Merchandising & Data Apprenticeship **Role Summary**: A 2‑year apprenticeship blending retail merchandising with data analytics. The apprentice supports commercial merchandising activities, manages product stock, coordinates suppliers, and performs sales analysis while developing Level 3 Data Technician skills in data preparation, analysis, visualisation, and ethical handling. **Expactations**: - Complete Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship within 18 months. - Acquire practical merchandising knowledge to support product availability and promotion. - Progress to a Junior Merchandiser role upon successful completion. - Work 3 days onsite, 2 days remote to balance collaboration and independence. **Key Responsibilities**: - Manage product and stock records for designated categories. - Coordinate with suppliers on order fulfilment, inventory replenishment, and trend forecasting. - Analyse sales data to identify performance drivers and stock optimisation opportunities. - Prepare data visualisations and reports in Excel or equivalent tools. - Ensure data compliance: anonymisation, privacy, and ethical handling. - Collaborate with merchandising team members to align data insights with promotional activities. **Required Skills**: - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic data modelling). - Fundamental data analysis skills (data cleaning, summarising, visualising). - Strong written and verbal communication. - Attention to detail and organisational ability. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Eagerness to learn and adapt to new data tools. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Completion of or enrolment in a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship. - Equivalent post‑secondary education (e.g., A‑Levels, GCSEs or equivalent). - Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
