Job Description
Job title: ML Research Engineer Role Summary: Translate cutting‑edge generative AI research into production‑ready molecular discovery tools for a sustainable agriculture platform. Drive end‑to‑end ML pipeline development, from data ingestion to inference, enabling research scientists to iterate quickly and reliably. Expectations: Deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable ML systems; optimize distributed training and inference pipelines; integrate experiment tracking and monitoring; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reproducible research. Key Responsibilities: - Implement and productionise ML prototypes into clean, testable codebases. - Design, build, and maintain data ingestion, preprocessing, training, inference, and evaluation pipelines. - Optimize distributed GPU/cluster training and inference across AWS, GCP, or HPC environments. - Add monitoring, logging, and experiment tracking (Weights & Biases, MLflow). - Collaborate closely with research scientists to accelerate experimentation and reproducibility. - Contribute to engineering best practices: code reviews, documentation, CI/CD, and standards. Required Skills: - Proficient in PyTorch, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions). - Experience with MLOps/DevOps tooling, experiment tracking, and large‑scale training infrastructure. - Strong software engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, documentation, monitoring. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Required Education & Certifications: - PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). - Minimum 2 years in fast‑paced research/engineering environments, preferably early‑stage companies. - No specific certifications required, but experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), SLURM, and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform) is advantageous.
