Job Description

Job title: Software Engineer – 6 Month Internship Role Summary: Interns on the Algo Team build and maintain the API that delivers personalization and formulation models, optimize backend performance, and develop Python tools for R&D workflows. Expectations: • Deliver high‑quality Python code that meets reliability and performance targets. • Collaborate closely with ML engineers and product stakeholders. • Demonstrate strong problem‑solving, communication in French & English, and a willingness to learn new backend concepts. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain and enhance the personalization API, ensuring stability, scalability, and low latency. - Integrate new algorithmic features from ML engineers into production services. - Develop and maintain Python tooling for R&D, automating tasks and improving workflow efficiency. - Conduct load testing, monitoring, and performance tuning of backend services. - Write comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests. - Participate in code reviews, continuous integration pipelines, and team discussions. Required Skills: - Proficient in Python and comfortable designing backend services. - Experience with API design, performance optimization, and debugging. - Familiarity with Git, Unix shell, and standard development tools. - Ability to write clean, maintainable code and implement automated testing. - Good written and verbal communication in French and English. - Optional: exposure to GCP, Docker, or monitoring tools. Required Education & Certifications: - Current student or recent graduate with a degree or coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
