Job Description

**Job Title:** Packaging Developer (FTC) (Food) **Role Summary:** Develop innovative packaging concepts for chilled convenience food products, translating creative ideas into commercially viable solutions. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, retail customers, and manufacturing partners to ensure designs meet functionality, sustainability, and brand objectives. Operate within a hybrid schedule with on‑site and travel requirements across UK sites and customer locations. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality packaging concepts that enhance shelf impact and communicate product values. - Apply technical knowledge of paper, plastics, films, and sustainability trends to design solutions. - Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and food safety standards. - Maintain project timelines and deliverables in a fast‑paced FMCG environment. - Exhibit strong stakeholder communication and proactive problem‑solving skills. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create engaging packaging concepts for existing and new product ranges. - Translate designs into robust prototypes and production‑ready specifications. - Present concept mock‑ups and feasibility studies to internal teams and customers. - Incorporate sustainability initiatives and stay current with packaging trends. - Support factory trials, refine specifications, and verify commercial viability. - Approve pack copy and artwork from a compliance standpoint. - Travel to sister sites and customer locations (requires full UK driving licence and personal vehicle). **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe Creative Suite tools. - Experience designing packaging for food/FMCG with end‑to‑end project ownership. - Knowledge of materials (paper, flexible plastics, films) and manufacturing processes. - Strong visual communication, mock‑up creation, and presentation abilities. - Excellent organisational and project management skills. - Effective written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders. - Awareness of sustainability and regulatory (food safety, environmental) requirements. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Food Science, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience). - No mandatory specific certifications required, but knowledge of FSC/PEFC, ISO 9001, or food safety standards is advantageous.
