**Job Title:** Director, AWS Cloud Platform & Operations
**Role Summary:**
Lead the end‑to‑end modernization of a regulated organization’s technology foundation, transitioning from legacy, customer‑specific deployments to a standardized, cloud‑native SaaS platform on AWS. Drive platform reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer experience while ensuring compliance and security across all environments.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver measurable improvements in operational reliability and delivery speed.
- Champion SRE practices and automation to reduce manual effort and elevate platform maturity.
- Influence cross‑functional stakeholders and maintain executive‑level communication.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own platform reliability, availability, performance, and scalability for production and non‑production environments.
- Define and evolve SRE‑aligned practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, reliability engineering).
- Champion self‑service infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling to accelerate quality and speed.
- Embed operational knowledge, controls, and compliance into platforms through automation.
- Architect the migration from customer‑specific legacy deployments to a standardized, multi‑tenant SaaS platform on AWS.
- Shape the cloud platform strategy to support scalability, resilience, cost efficiency, and rapid product delivery.
- Lead and collaborate with Desktop, Cloud Architecture, and Hardware teams to deliver service excellence to internal employees.
**Required Skills:**
- 10+ years in cloud platforms, infrastructure, or operations roles with leadership experience.
- Deep hands‑on expertise with AWS core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD, DevOps, and SRE practices.
- Proven track record of cloud‑native transformation at scale.
- Experience operating in regulated environments (healthcare, life sciences) with strong security and compliance focus.
- Excellent executive communication and cross‑functional influence.
- Familiarity with AI tools in technology (Gemini, Claude) is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional) preferred.
