Job Description
Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer Role Summary Design, develop, test, and validate embedded software for aviation computing platforms. Own the full development lifecycle, from concept through RTCA DO‑178C certification, ensuring integration with hardware and system requirements. Expectations * Deliver high‑integrity embedded code in C, C++, and assembly. * Maintain adherence to RTCA DO‑178C and TSO C153A design assurance. * Interface with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to capture subsystem specifications. * Perform in‑loop, hardware‑in‑loop, and flight validation tests. * Participate in system integration, documentation, and presentation of technical results. Key Responsibilities 1. Own embedded software design, implementation, and validation for UAV/aircraft platforms. 2. Conduct hardware‑in‑loop and software‑in‑loop testing; troubleshoot and resolve integration issues. 3. Perform design assurance activities per DO‑178C and TSO C153A; produce required documents. 4. Collaborate with suppliers to translate subsystem requirements into software specifications. 5. Develop and maintain design documents, test plans, and status reports. 6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tooling. Required Skills * Proficient in C (mandatory), C++, and ARM assembly. * Experience with ARM micro‑controllers and RISC architecture. * Knowledge of IEEE 802.1 TSN. * Familiarity with motor‑control algorithms and RF embedded design. * Experience with image processing and machine‑learning algorithms. * Strong written and verbal communication; ability to produce clear technical documentation. * Self‑motivated problem‑solving and independent initiative. Required Education & Certifications * Bachelor’s degree in Embedded Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field. * Proven experience in aerospace, automotive, or comparable embedded‑software environments. * RTCA DO‑178C and TSO C153A design‑assurance expertise.
