**Job title:** Cyber Security Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, implement, and test cybersecurity aspects of embedded and software products from early market capture through final qualification. Serve as the technical focal point for security requirements, risk assessments, architecture decisions, and testing across multiple disciplines.
**Expectations:**
- Maintain current expertise in cybersecurity standards, civil and defense regulatory frameworks, and emerging best practices.
- Act as the go‑to specialist for security considerations in bids, project specifications, and customer interfaces.
- Deliver high‑quality technical documentation and ensure traceability from user requirements to final tests.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Keep state‑of‑the‑art knowledge in chosen specialty (hardware or software security).
- Stay updated on applicable civil and defense cybersecurity regulatory frameworks.
- Lead cybersecurity aspects during bid and project phases.
- Support architecture teams on specification, design, Make/Team/Buy decisions, and customer technical interfaces.
- Contribute to design documents, configuration records, user manuals, and testing plans.
- Perform detailed risk assessment, remediation, and testing to meet bid/project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance during implementation and testing, ensuring development goals and traceability are maintained.
**Required Skills:**
- Cybersecurity risk assessment and remediation (EBIOS Risk Manager preferred).
- Threat modelling and security architecture definition/review (system, software, or hardware).
- Source code review and coding rules definition for C/C++, Java, and/or Rust.
- Common Criteria documentation and process follow‑up.
- Security testing: vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, test plan creation, execution, and reporting.
- IP network architecture and troubleshooting.
- Linux kernel fundamentals.
- Ability to translate business requirements into secure technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Engineering degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Cybersecurity.
- ≥3 years professional experience designing, developing, or security‑testing cybersecurity‑oriented products (e.g., IP encrypts, firewalls).
- ≥3 years experience in at least three of the following areas: risk assessment, threat modelling, security architecture, source code review, Common Criteria, security testing, IP networking, Linux kernel.
- Familiarity with EBIOS Risk Manager methodology and other relevant industry frameworks is required.
