Job Title: Data Engineer
Role Summary:
Build, operate, and optimise end‑to‑end cloud‑based ETL/ELT pipelines that support commercial, programmatic, and affiliate revenue streams. Deliver scalable data models and interactive dashboards that enable KPI‑driven decision making across commercial, product, and analytics teams. Blend engineering, analytics, and product thinking to create a high‑performance, reliable data ecosystem for a global digital media environment.
Expectations:
Contract role, 2 days per week, £450‑£550 per day. Work closely with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) to deliver data solutions that directly impact revenue optimisation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using APIs, SFTP, and containerised orchestration.
- Build and maintain data models and warehousing solutions that support commercial and monetisation analytics.
- Manage and optimise high‑volume, multi‑source Big Data infrastructure on GCP and AWS.
- Create, refine, and maintain interactive dashboards for KPI monitoring and decision support.
- Own end‑to‑end data quality, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across core datasets.
- Analyse campaign, monetisation, and platform performance to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with operational, sales, marketing, finance, and senior analytics teams on strategic projects.
- Support advanced data modelling and insight generation for critical business initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in SQL and Python; advanced Excel and Tableau essential.
- Experience with cloud services (GCP: BigQuery, Compute Engine, Kubernetes; AWS: Redshift, EC2).
- Proven ability to build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines, integrating APIs and SFTP.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, warehousing, and Big Data environments.
- Strong analytical, creative problem‑solving, and project management capabilities.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills within cross‑functional teams.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., GCP Data Engineer, AWS Big Data Specialty) preferred but not mandatory.
