Job Description

**Job title** Senior Software Engineer **Role Summary** Lead the design, development, and evolution of an open‑source platform engineering framework (Kratix) and its commercial enterprise version. Work closely with a small engineering team and direct customers to deliver scalable, reliable features primarily written in Go and deployed on Kubernetes. Focus on architecture decisions, user experience, and high‑quality engineering practices. **Expectations** * Deliver production‑grade features that meet customer needs and scalability goals. * Own end‑to‑end feature ownership from design through production support. * Apply Extreme Programming practices—pairing, TDD, continuous integration—to maintain code quality. * Stay curious, self‑directed, and adaptive to ambiguity; learn new tools quickly. * Contribute to the wider platform‑engineering community through documentation, talks, or open‑source contributions. **Key Responsibilities** * Design and implement core components and APIs for Kratix and Kratix Enterprise in Go, orchestrated on Kubernetes. * Make architectural trade‑offs that balance innovation, reliability, and usability. * Engage directly with customers to capture requirements, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on solutions. * Produce clean, well‑tested code and perform rigorous code reviews. * Maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability for enterprise deployments. * Mentor junior team members, facilitating pair programming and knowledge sharing. **Required Skills** * Deep proficiency in Go and Kubernetes (pods, deployments, operators, etc.). * Experience designing and maintaining distributed, highly available systems. * Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and related CNCF/HashiCorp toolchains. * Working knowledge of at least one additional language such as Ruby, Rust, or Python. * Solid grasp of XP disciplines: pairing, TDD, continuous integration, and automated testing. * Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate technical problems into clear solutions. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. * Certifications are not mandatory; Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or cloud provider certification is a plus.
