**Role Summary**
Lead the strategic direction, governance, and deployment of data initiatives across the organization. Act as the central reference for data governance, ensuring data quality, security, and alignment with business objectives while coordinating cross‑functional data projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Strategic Data Steer‑the‑Ship**
- Define and implement enterprise data strategy.
- Coordinate cross‑functional data initiatives and monitor progress.
- Capture and report data usage across departments.
2. **Data Governance**
- Prioritize and manage governance projects (data catalog, glossaries, dictionaries, reference data).
- Establish and enforce data quality, documentation, and reliability frameworks.
- Draft and circulate policies on confidentiality, security, and data usage best practices.
3. **Road‑map & Metrics**
- Create, maintain, and communicate the data roadmap and related KPIs.
- Align business and IT needs, ensuring projects meet operational requirements.
4. **Stakeholder Collaboration**
- Facilitate joint planning workshops, tool deployment, and change management.
- Lead internal data community activities (committees, workshops, forums).
- Liaise with external data communities to benchmark and adopt innovations.
5. **Project Deployment**
- Oversee the deployment of governance tools and architecture solutions.
- Ensure proper adoption and ongoing transformation initiatives.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, and data project delivery (≥3‑5 years).
- Deep understanding of data concepts: metadata management, data cataloguing, MDM, data quality, privacy, security.
- Strong project management capability (planning, execution, risk, stakeholder management).
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to synthesize complex data topics for varied audiences.
- Strategic thinking with business acumen and regulatory awareness (GDPR, industry standards).
- Proficiency in English; French linguistic proficiency highly valuable.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks (DAMA DMBoK, DAMA-DMBOK, CDMP).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Statistics, or a related field.
- Relevant certification preferred: PMP, Prince2, CDMP, DAMA‑DMBOK, or equivalent data‑management credential.
