Job Description
**Job Title** Safeguarding Case Officer **Role Summary** Provide high‑quality investigative support for safeguarding incidents, manage case files, produce reports, and ensure compliance with legal and organisational standards within a sports governing body. **Expectations** - Deliver detailed case investigations and maintain confidentiality. - Meet fixed‑term contract dates and meet all statutory safeguarding requirements. - Demonstrate professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. - Participate in training delivery and awareness activities. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist the Safeguarding Case Manager with case investigations, including interview conduction, evidence gathering, and risk assessment. - Produce clear written reports for senior leadership, board, and safeguarding tribunals. - Represent the safeguarding team at strategy meetings and external events. - Manage media and reputational risk related to safeguarding cases. - Support DBS criminal record checking, administer DBS paperwork, and maintain up‑to‑date records. - Advise on legislation, data protection, and confidentiality matters. - Deliver safeguarding training to coaches, volunteers, clubs, and other stakeholders. - Respond to safeguarding enquiries via official channels. - Compile and present case data trends to executive teams. **Required Skills** - Investigative and analytical ability. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration. - Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices. - Confidentiality and data‑protection awareness. - Ability to work under fixed deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Valid Enhanced DBS (with Children’s Barred list) or equivalent current government update. - Relevant qualification in safeguarding, social work, law, or a related discipline (e.g., HNC/HND Social Care, Criminology, or >2–year safeguarding professional training). ---
