Job Description
**Job title:** Contracts Manager **Role Summary:** Provide commercial transaction support within an in‑house legal team, drafting and negotiating contracts across Contract/Commercial, IP/IT, Data Protection, and AI domains. Advise on legal risk and regulatory compliance, collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, and mentor junior legal staff. **Expectations:** - Manage high‑value contract negotiations that drive revenue and profitability. - Ensure all contractual obligations meet business and regulatory standards. - Deliver timely, practical advice that balances legal risk with commercial objectives. - Support GDPR and global data protection compliance through contract review and project participation. - Maintain effective communication with internal and external counsel. **Key Responsibilities:** - Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, SaaS agreements, DPAs, RFPs, and other commercial contracts. - Lead GDPR‑related contractual negotiations and contribute to data privacy compliance initiatives. - Work with stakeholders (Revenue Recognition, Finance, Sales, Product, Infosec, Compliance) to align contract execution with business goals. - Provide training and guidance to junior legal team members and business partners. - Undertake ad‑hoc legal projects and continuous process improvement. - Collaborate with external counsel on complex negotiations and litigation matters. **Required Skills:** - Strong negotiation, drafting, and commercial acumen. - Expertise in contract law, data privacy (GDPR), IP/IT, and AI regulations. - Excellent written and oral communication. - Planning, organizational, and project‑management abilities. - Ability to translate legal concepts into business‑friendly language. - Collaborative mindset; experience working with cross‑functional teams and external counsel. **Required Education & Certifications:** - 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Law, Computer Science, Psychology, Business, or related field. - Significant in‑house contracts management experience (minimum 2–3 years). - Legal or paralegal certifications preferred but not mandatory.
