Job Description
Job title: Commercial Contracts Manager Role Summary: Oversee the end‑to‑end commercial contract process for a global environmental non‑profit, ensuring agreements are legally compliant, commercially viable, and aligned with the charity’s mission while supporting corporate clients. Expactations: - 2–3 + years post‑qualification experience in commercial contracts, or equivalent legal/commercial exposure. - Proven negotiation skill with corporate clients and ability to manage complex agreements. - Strong commercial acumen, detail orientation, and practical decision‑making. - Cross‑cultural awareness and experience working with international clients. - Drive for environmental or conservation impact in a charity context. - Basic understanding of data privacy and risk management is an advantage. Key Responsibilities: 1. Draft, review, negotiate and execute commercial contracts (subscriptions, collaboration agreements, etc.). 2. Onboard and manage corporate clients, guiding them through contractual terms and conditions. 3. Advise on intellectual property, reputation, charity‑specific legal constraints, and compliance. 4. Identify, assess and mitigate contract‑related risks; maintain regulatory compliance. 5. Collaborate with finance, partnerships, and operations teams to align contractual outcomes with organizational goals. 6. Monitor contract performance, renewals, and scope changes; provide reporting to senior management. Required Skills: - Commercial contract drafting and negotiation. - Legal research and analysis. - Strong communication and stakeholder management. - Project management and time‑management abilities. - Knowledge of IP law, charitable regulations, and basic data protection principles. Required Education & Certifications: - Qualified legal practitioner (law degree and admission to a recognized bar or solicitor’s roll). - Demonstrated experience in commercial contract law or equivalent.
