Job Description

**Job Title:** SOC Shift Leader **Role Summary:** Lead and maintain operational excellence in a 24x7 SOC environment, ensuring high-quality incident detection, response, and procedural compliance. Provide mentorship, oversight, and collaboration across SOC teams and related functions. **Expectations:** - Proven experience in a senior operational SOC role. - Demonstrated leadership in mentoring analysts and maintaining operational standards. - Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee live SOC shifts, ensuring continuity, quality assurance, and adherence to procedures. - Review and validate analyst triage decisions, documentation, and escalations. - Facilitate clear, consistent shift handovers via documentation and communication. - Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts during live operations. - Coordinate alignment between SOC operations, threat intelligence, and incident response. - Analyze operational metrics to identify inefficiencies and improve playbooks/SOPs. - Support incident response teams in elevated investigations. **Required Skills:** - Expertise in network security, infrastructure, and IT security principles. - Working knowledge of operating systems, applications, and network protocols (e.g., DNS, HTTP/S, SSL, SMTP). - Proficiency in SIEM platforms and network packet capture tools. - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance. - Demonstrated cybersecurity experience in operational SOC environments.
