**Job Title**
Generation Senior Machine Learning Engineer
**Role Summary**
Senior ML Engineer focused on optimizing power generation through data‑driven solutions. Works within a Generation Data Intelligence team to design, develop, and deploy predictive models that improve maintenance, reduce failures, and increase energy output.
**Expectations**
* 5+ years experience industrialising machine learning products from concept to production.
* Deep understanding of electricity production challenges.
* Fluency in English and proficiency in Dutch or French.
* Strong technical expertise in AWS services, Python, ML frameworks, and DevOps practices.
* Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and domain‑expert teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for failure prediction, maintenance optimisation, and energy‑output enhancement.
2. Implement MLOps best practices, ensuring robust monitoring, testing, version control, and sustainable deployment pipelines.
3. Collaborate closely with plant operators, engineers, and domain experts to deliver operationally impactful solutions.
4. Work with the IT Data Platform team to standardise ML workflows and share reusable Python packages.
5. Transform raw operational data into structured, reusable insights that comply with Data Governance principles.
6. Explore and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., multi‑agent reinforcement learning) to drive optimisation.
**Required Skills**
* Industrialising ML solutions: product‑ready pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
* AWS: S3, Glue, Athena, SageMaker.
* Python for data science and ML, including libraries such as Scikit‑learn, XGBoost, PyOD, and Darts.
* DevOps tools: Git, CI/CD, Docker.
* Time‑series anomaly detection (bonus).
* AI‑assisted coding tools, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems (bonus).
* Experience with energy historians (Aveva OSIsoft PI) (bonus).
* Multi‑agent reinforcement learning knowledge (bonus).
* Fluent English; Dutch or French preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
* Optional: AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty.
