About the Company

Ninja Theory Ltd. was formed in 2004 by four partners, including current Directors Nina Kristensen (Chief Development Director) and Tameem Antoniades (Chief Creative Director). We pride ourselves on striving for the highest production values, continually pushing the boundaries of technology, art and design to create evermore meaningful and memorable video game experiences.

We're based in Cambridge, UK and are the creators of five-time BAFTA award-winning Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, the No.1 selling DmC: Devil May Cry, Develop Award winning Enslaved Odyssey to the West and BAFTA nominated Heavenly Sword.

We're proud to have worked with a long list of collaborators from creative industries outside of video games, including Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Hobbit), Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later), Nitin Sawhney (BBC's Human Planet), Noisia (Split The Atom) and Combichrist (Making Monsters). As well as partnering with talent from the world of music, literature and film, Ninja Theory pioneered the use of Performance Capture in video games.

Job Description
Job Title: Motion Capture Data Cleanup Contractor Role Summary: Perform post‑production cleanup and quality assurance of performance‑capture data to deliver high‑quality animation assets for game development, collaborating with capture and animation teams and utilizing MotionBuilder, Shogun Post, and Unreal Engine. Expactations: 12‑month freelance contract, flexible scheduling, readiness to support both shoot‑time and post‑processing tasks, and deliver clean, pipeline‑ready data. Key Responsibilities: - Receive raw Vicon or equivalent optical mocap data and prepare for integration. - Clean, retarget, and refine motion data using Shogun Post and MotionBuilder. - Conduct quality checks, correct tracking errors, noise, and marker issues. - Coordinate with capture techs, animators, and riggers to resolve movement or retiming problems. - Export processed animations to Unreal Engine and verify functionality. - Maintain detailed logs, reports, and documentation of cleanup procedures. - Update and improve pipeline documentation and best‑practice guidelines. Required Skills: - Proficient in animation and motion‑capture concepts. - Experience with Vicon or similar optical mocap systems. - Skilled in Shogun Post workflow. - Comfortable with MotionBuilder and Unreal Engine pipelines. - Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently. - Strong communication and teamwork capabilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Computer Animation, Motion Capture Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
