Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineer in Test **Role Summary:** Lead quality strategy and embedding test-first practices for cross-functional engineering teams. Collaborate globally to implement automated testing, observability-driven testing, and scalable test frameworks. Focus on preventing defects through proactive design and feedback loops. **Expectations:** - Lead test-first quality initiatives. - Advocate shift-left testing and TestOps practices. - Evolve test frameworks using Java 21, TypeScript, JUnit 5, and Playwright. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design end-to-end automated test suites for integration, contract, performance, and production scenarios. - Coach engineers on testability, feedback loops, and incident mitigation strategies. - Ensure alignment of test coverage with business requirements and product goals. - Participate in architectural design to enhance system reliability and debuggability. - Collaborate with engineering teams in shared repositories for seamless integration. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience in Java or TypeScript. - Expertise in REST/gRPC APIs, distributed systems, and automation tooling (e.g., JUnit 5, Cucumber, Playwright). - Strong understanding of shift-left practices, BDD/TDD, and test-driven design. - Proficiency in API testing, message queues, and multi-layered automation (frontend/backend). - High collaboration skills and clarity in technical documentation and communication. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. - Experience in software testing, test automation, or equivalent practical expertise required. - Certifications in test methodologies (e.g., TDD, BDD) or tools are advantageous. - English proficiency mandatory; Dutch is an advantage for local collaboration.
