We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist/ML Engineer to play a critical role in advancing our AI and machine learning capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team working on cutting-edge technologies with a focus on Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Large Language Models (LLMs). The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to ML engineering and deep experience in building and deploying scalable AI solutions.
Contract Details:
Location: Remote (Very Occasional office travel may be required
Contract Length: 6 months initial contract
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Day Rate: Up to PS650 per day
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, optimise and deploy machine learning models with a focus on LLMs and Agentic AI systems
Design and implement RAG pipelines to enhance conversational AI performance and data retrieval efficacy
Create scalable, production-ready solutions that integrate with existing business infrastructure
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, data engineers and product managers to deliver high-impact AI projects
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, especially in generative models and multi-agent systems
Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation and knowledge sharing initiatives
Essential Skills and Experience:
Strong experience in developing and deploying machine learning models, particularly in NLP and generative AI domains
Hands-on expertise with Agentic AI frameworks, large-scale language models (eg GPT, BERT, LLaMA) and RAG techniques
Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or comparable frameworks
Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure within a machine learning or data science context
Strong understanding of model performance optimisation, fine-tuning of LLMs, and safe deployment practices
Familiarity with vector databases (eg FAISS, Pinecone) and modern data architectures
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field
Previous experience working on Agentic AI or intelligent multi-agent systems in a commercial setting
Track record of delivering AI solutions within highly regulated environments or public sector organisations
