Senior Infrastructure Engineer Remote Working - Salary PS45K - PS53K

We are seeking a talented UK-based Senior Infrastructure Engineer. You will be tasked with managing and maintaining internal and customer infrastructure, both on-prem and cloud environments. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude, passion for technology, a penchant for security and expert-level system administration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and administration of WellData's internal infrastructure estate (including VM's, host servers, SAN, firewalls, network switches)
Provide proactive Windows, Azure and AWS support for our clients as well as internal duties.
Carry out infrastructure daily checks for WellData and Infrastructure Managed Service clients, identifying and resolving any issues identified.
Configuration of infrastructure monitoring systems.
Proactively maintain and develop all WellData infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
Proactively maintain and develop all Infrastructure Managed Service clients infrastructure.
Ensure WellData infrastructure is licensed and hardware is supported.
Maintain robust strategy for backup/recovery and DR.
Support servers and endpoints with anti-virus, security patching, and backups using VEEAM and NAS solutions.
Manage, coordinate, and implement upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware.
Security and hardening of servers, including firewall rules and any other strategies as required.
Deploy and maintain containerised workloads with Docker alongside existing virtual infrastructure.
Investigate and resolve and internal IT issues, e.g. VPN problems, performance issues.
Assist with ISO audits
Maintain Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation
Work within our Quality Management System.
Document and record all work to provide cover to the rest of the team, including documentation that can be presented to a customer.
Represent WellData in a technical role in discussion with clients.
Participate in a 24/7 roster system.
Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
Explore and integrate new technologies.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Extensive experience of administering infrastructure technologies, including VMware, Windows, Azure and AWS.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Remote Desktop services.
Expert knowledge of server and network security, including server hardening, firewall configuration and anti-virus/vulnerability scanners.
Experience of administering Linux a bonus.
Experience of automation languages/tools, e.g. Powershell, Ansible, Terraform
Expert knowledge of security and server maintenance with extensive experience of monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues.
Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative and organise own work at an operational level and deliver work for multiple clients to agreed timescales and standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively with groups and individuals including those with differing perspectives.
Ability to explain complex concepts and issues to non-technical experts.
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to work logically from first principles to respond to novel, unusual, or particularly complex issues.
