The Software Engineer II is an engineering professional who, with minimal to no supervision, applies engineering knowledge to develop software code, unit tests and integration tests for a component of a feature with the focus on embedded software. Responsibilities include full-stack implementation of one or more components in code for robot applications, defining and executing unit and integration testing strategies, serving as the technical subject matter expert for components, integrating subsystem components into larger system designs, defining configuration parameters and deployment strategies, defining acceptance test criteria, performing functional and integration testing, ensuring traceability and compliance of code with software requirements, fault isolation and root cause investigations, providing engineering effort estimates, managing product definition, issue tracking and design description processes, and communicating with internal stakeholders. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of related experience or equivalent, expertise in modern programming languages such as C/C++ and agile methodologies, understanding of test-driven methodologies, knowledge or interest in robotics, excellent communication skills, experience in embedded development and multithreaded applications, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications include at least 5 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or 3 years with a master's degree, ability to conduct data analytics and implement data-driven solutions, and experience in medical devices. The role is located in Irving, TX, with 5% travel required.
